Who we are
Quote Desk is operated by the Talk of the Trade team, an Australian sole trader. ABN provided on request. Contact: hello@talkofthetrade.com.au.
What we collect
When you sign up: your business name, email address, password (stored hashed, never readable by us) and Australian mobile number. We verify the mobile with a text code and the email with a link.
When you use Quote Desk: your price list; the enquiries you forward, paste in or receive through the website form, including the sender's name, email, phone and message; the quotes you build, including your customers' names and email addresses, the lines, totals and notes; whether each quote was accepted or declined, when, and any reason the customer gave; and usage counts per month for plan limits.
On the Free plan: the marketing consent you gave, with the exact sentence shown, its version, the time, your IP address and browser, and any withdrawal.
On paid plans: the fact of your subscription, its status and invoices. Card details are held by Stripe, never by us.
From the customers you quote: their name and email address as you entered them, their decision on the quote, and the reason they typed if they declined. They give this to you, not to us, and we hold it only to show it to you.
How we use it
To run the product: sending your quotes and follow-ups in your business name, showing you enquiries, keeping your account secure, charging your plan, and answering your support emails.
On Free only: to contact you, and to let the partner named on the partners page contact you, about business growth and advertising services, by email and phone, as the consent says. Never by text message. Withdrawal stops this.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use your customers' details for anything but showing them to you and sending the quote you asked us to send.
Who processes it
The application runs on Vercel (Sydney region once live) and the database on Supabase (Sydney). Email is sent by Postmark and text codes by Vonage. Payments are handled by Stripe. Each of these may process data outside Australia as part of delivering its service; otherwise your data stays in Australia. Backups are taken daily.
Your customers
The page your customer opens shows your business name, the quote and your contact details. Its header and footer carry the Quote Desk name and links to these legal pages; nothing else on it is ours. Your customer can ask you to delete their details at any time; email us and we will do it.
Keeping it and deleting it
We keep your account data while your account exists. Email hello@talkofthetrade.com.au to close your account and have your data deleted, or to get a copy of it. Consent and withdrawal records are kept as long as the law requires so we can show what was agreed.
Access and correction
You can see your price list, enquiries and quotes in the dashboard. For anything else, or to correct something, email us. A reply comes back within one business day, Melbourne time.
Changes
If this page changes in a way that matters, we will email the address on your account.
