Getting started

Sending your first quote

From an enquiry or from scratch, through the draft, to the Send to customer button and what happens after you press it.

Either press Quote this on an enquiry, which fills in the customer's name and email, or open Quotes and press New quote and type them in.

Each line has a drop-down headed From your price list. Pick an item and its description and price fill in; set the quantity. Leave it on Type it in instead to write your own description, quantity and unit price. The form starts with three lines; Add a line gives you up to twenty. Quantities are whole numbers.

Write the note to the customer: what is included, what is not, when you can start, how long the price holds, whether GST is in.

Press Save draft. The quote opens on its own page laid out as the customer will see it. Read it. If it is right, press Send to customer. One email goes out in your business name with the lines, the total, the note and a link. The quote moves to Waiting on the customer.

If it is wrong, leave it in Drafts and build another. A saved draft cannot be changed, and drafts do not count against your monthly quotes. Only the send counts.

Did this answer it? If not, write to us and a person replies within one business day.
