For asbestos removalists
Quoting for asbestos removalists
Asbestos work is quoted by the square metre of sheeting removed, the samples sent for testing, the loads taken to a facility that accepts them and the inspection at the end, with the containment and protective gear as the parts customers never see. Quote Desk sets each out as a line, so a careful quote is not mistaken for an expensive one.

What gets in the way for asbestos removalists
Test first, then quote the removal
A homeowner who suspects fibro in the bathroom wants to know two things: is it asbestos, and what will removal cost. A small quote for sampling, accepted on their phone, and a removal quote once the results are back, keep each decision simple.
The cost of doing it properly
Containment, wrapping, protective gear, disposal and the inspection at the end all cost money, and a cheaper quote may leave some of them out. A line for each shows the customer what the price is for.
Disposal by the load
Disposal at a facility that accepts asbestos is charged by weight or by load, and it is not cheap. A disposal line with the quantity you expect means the cost is agreed before the trailer is loaded.
Builders waiting on you
A renovation stops until the asbestos is out. The builder wants a price and a date today. A quote sent from the site, with the start date in the note, keeps their job moving and books yours.
A worked example
Asbestos removalist work, with Quote Desk
Consider a fictional crew, Paperbark Asbestos Removal. Price list: site inspection and sampling, up to three samples $280 each; extra sample $60 each; bonded sheet removal $45 per square metre; containment set-up and wrapping $350 per job; disposal $420 per trailer load; clearance inspection by an independent assessor $380 each, passed on at cost.
A homeowner renovating a 1970s bathroom forwards an email: the wall sheeting looks like fibro, and her builder will not start until she knows. Quote this: inspection and sampling x1. Total $280, accepted from her phone the same morning. The results come back positive.
The removal quote starts from New quote, with her name and email typed in: bonded sheet removal x22, containment x1, disposal x1, clearance inspection x1. The note says the price includes GST; it covers the 22 square metres of bathroom wall sheeting as sampled; one day of work, with the room sealed off and the household out of the bathroom and hallway; disposal at a facility that accepts it, with the receipt supplied; the clearance inspection is arranged by us before the room is reopened; anything else found is quoted separately before it is touched. Total $2,140. Sent the afternoon the results arrive. She accepts that evening, and the builder has a start date.

Questions from asbestos removalists
Can I quote testing and removal separately?
Yes, and two quotes usually read better: the sampling first, accepted before you take a sample, then the removal once the results are back. Each has its own accept link and its own place on the quotes page.
Does Quote Desk tell me what licence or paperwork a job needs?
No. It sends the lines and note you write and checks nothing against the rules for asbestos work. Check the licence requirements in your state before you quote.
How do I show a cost I pass on, such as an independent inspection?
As a line of its own, with a description that says who does it. Quote Desk adds it to the total like any other line; say in the note if it is charged at cost.
